What we collect

- Your uploaded `.docx` file (for checking/formatting)
- Your selected guide/template (to determine rules)
- Feedback text you submit (if any)
Automatically generated (service operation)
- Basic request logs (time, duration, errors) for debugging and improving quality
- Intermediate artifacts (e.g., structured `doc.json`, check reports)
How we use your data
We only use your data to run your tasks, produce outputs, and debug issues. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train public models.

Storage & retention
To support reuse (avoid repeated computation), we may temporarily store your uploaded file, formatted output, reports, and intermediate artifacts (e.g., `doc.json`).
Default retention: 7 days, then auto-clean.

- AI services (optional features like paragraph annotation or template generation; see product pages for details)
Ads & Cookies
Our site may display third‑party ads. Third‑party vendors (including Google) may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, measure ad performance, and (where permitted by law) provide personalized ads.
If we serve users in EEA/UK/CH in the future, we may need a Google‑certified CMP for consent management; otherwise personalized ads may not be available.
Deletion & feedback
- To delete a task’s files/artifacts, email: about@freeformat.app
- For faster debugging, include: upload time (approx), guide/template used, and any error messages.
Important notice
Do not upload highly sensitive or confidential documents (IDs, bank details, full contracts, etc.). If unsure, send the formatting requirements as plain text first.
